a/f adjustments on stock carb?

Im no carb guru but I have rebuilt the one on the 4af. I didnt really see any adjustments other than the float, always though there should be something more. is there something that I missed?
the reason I ask is that sometimes in the morning if I hit the gas hard from a stop the car will die or do nothing(almost stall) for a min before I back off the gas. I figure Im flooding it because the car hasnt fully warmed up yet. is there an adjustment I can make from the outside of the carb to adjust the a/f mixture? is it just driver error or a bad mixture?

Theres an mixture screw un the back. But what you're saying is pretty much normal for carbs, your accelerator pump should compensate for it, but maybe its not working properly. Its usually a lean spot and from your description it is.

To the best of my knowledge on the 4af carbs here the A/f mixture screw has a plug covering it. I had found a write up on how to get it out but the bottom of it sits so close to the screw if you drill in a little to much you hit the screw and wreck it. On the 4af carbs it's supposed to be electronically controlled (hence the wire harness going to it). I honestly prefer a basic carb that you can adjust yourself. Minus the fact I don't have to do anything to it for the winter.
