Rewiring Foglights

I am looking to rewire my foglights on my 1990 toyota corolla sr5...i'm wondering if its possible at all to rewire them that the stock foglights stay on all the time when the flipup headlights are on without having to install new foglights

anyhelp is much appreciated.

Those are DRL's, which at least here in ontario after 1990 you need them in proper working order to pass the safety. Since your car has them I would assume it's a 1990 +. I'd leave them be if you ever plan to sell the car. Besides they won't help you see any better. I tried them on my buddy's coupe at night and you didn't even know they were on.

how is it done anyway?? is it difficult to do?? ive thought of just rewiring them to a seperate switch just to turn them on when i want like when the car is off to accent underglow that i have on my car but also i think it would look nice to have the fogs on while the flip ups are on i dont care if it doesnt give much difference in lighting..lol

I did this on my 91 GTS, basiclly I wired them together with the running lights which stay on when your headlights come on or just in the park light position on the headlight switch. I like turning just these on at dusk or dawn or semi cloudy days rather then turning my headlights on. Even if they don't do much other drivers can see you better and I like the look of them when they're on with the headlights.
I should mention that I don't have DRL cause my motor and wring harness etc are all from a 89 GTS, long story, but the setup is the same.

Not the headlights but rather the park/running lights. (lights along either side of the grill under the flip ups). I perfer it this way but if you just want them on when the headlights are on then I suppose you could hook them with the headlights only...

yeah thats all i really wanted to do lol...i was just thinking of stiping the wires that come from the foglights and runing them straight to the headlight wires..but i wasnt sure if thats how to do it or not since no one on the internet really posts anything like that and ive been researching it for a while before i attempt to do anything myself

Go for it, the only way you'll learn is to try it yourself. In this case I don't foresee any problems by doing this, just make sure you make good clean connections to prevent corrosion and shorting.
