Soundsystem - Trunk Rattle

I have a monster soundsystem in my 1990 toyota corolla sr5 2 12inch DB drive subs and it makes the trunk really rattle my buddys all have similar systems but dont rattle as much mainly because my trunk is more of a lid then anyother trunk i was wondering if there is anyway of fixing it or atleast making less of a rattle and its not the license plate...ive heard of spray foam or possibly using silicone in the open gaps but any suggestions?

Make sure all hinges, etc. and other parts are tight and all factory gaskets are in tack.

To reduce rattle, you buy Dynamat which is rubbery-like mats in various sizes that is applied anywhere and everywhere which will help isolate outside noises and keep outside and vice versa. It also reduces the "rattles" you hear. Dynamat can be purchased at Best Buy in small sizes (a foot by a foot), crutchfield.com, or JCWhitney.com. Other auto sound system places sell them too). I believe there are also sprays available which works the same way.

weather stipping on the back of the license plate usually takes care of the rattle from your plate.

Other than that, maybe your bass is too cranked... a good system doesn't have to rattle everyone's brains to sound good. SPL vs SQ

Turn the bass down. Not only will it make it so that you don't miss every other second of a song, but the rattling will might just disappear.

good sound is a balance between bass and treble. If you are rattling alot of things chances are you might be vibrating some screws out lol.

Get some great stuff foam from home depot or lowes and spray it in all the empty space between the top metal and the support metal underneath. I know it sounds ghetto but it does wonders for stopping the annoying rattles.

maybe the glue that holds the sheet metal to the frame has lost it's grip, problem I have with my hood and trunk. Sitting on it would stop the rattle. bet a parts store will have something to fix that.
