blower motor problem

So im fnally getting the car all ready to be certified and i realize the damn blower motor for the heat doesnt work, and thats insta-fail because its fall and winter is almost here,

so heres the situation, when i go to turn it on, the relay clicks, but the motor doesnt turn on, i took the motor out and hooked it up straight to the battery and it works, so im not exactly sure where to go from here, i used a tester light on the plug where it plugs into the blower and nothing, so i kinda hit a dead end, because the relay is working, maybe the resister is cooked

Thoughts?

I would suspect the blower resistor and possibly the circuit breaker for the fan. It's located behind passenger kick panel in a fuse block with the relay. It has a hole in top to reset it (with a small nail) if it pops.

well its not the circuit breaker, i just went out side and tried it, when you cycle through the speeds there should be power going to the resistor yes?

I am not a wiring expert but here is a wiring diagram if you have a volt/ohm meter to do some tracing. See diagram 6 for heating/cooling.

Same problem here and couldn't figure out what was wrong. The blower resistor was still ok (new one didn't fix the problem).
I ended up wiring up the fan to the relay box in the drivers kick panel so it's on all the time. This is a $500 car mind you. The A/C switch and the fan speed control went out at the same time last year with the previous owner. The relay in the passenger kickpanel is good, etc. I bought a new/used working climate control unit, and that didn't fix it either.
I had to rig the AC clutch to a switch also to make the AC come on as well.

Apparantely there is supposed to be a AC clutch relay somewhere? I'll be damned if I can find it.

I would check the resistor first.
I can't remember if the power goes from the switch to the resister, or if the switch gives it ground. You need to check the wiring diagram.

I am having an intermittent problem with my blower so will be curious on when you find the culprit. I was looking over the circuit and the 100 amp alt fuse looks like it feeds the blower circuit breaker. The fuse is located in the small enclosure off the positive terminal. Try cleaning the terminals on the fuse or replace it. To do either slide the rubber boot down and pop the plastic covers on both sides. You will need 8mm and 10mm socket to remove the bolts that hold fuse in place.

i figured it out, i had a look at a diagram, and it showed the C/B power goes straight to the 100amp alt fuse like mentioned by 90 GP, so i started from there back-tracking to where it enters the firewall, near the firewall, around where the cruise control is there is a coupler that was unplugged, i plugged it back i and BAM had power to the blower motor again,

if you have an intermitant problem with it you should check that connection, see if its corroded 90 GP

I will have to check it out. I don't have cruise so is that connector on the driver or passenger side of firewall? Is it visible in engine compartment or under the dash?

have you tried at multiple settings? Not 100% sure about which models have which, but typically there is a separate relay for the high setting. I have seen it before where it fails at all low settings but worked on the high setting. This was in an aw11 and all I replaced was the switch itself.
