Yeah, I decided to switch up that old faded hood, with some nice looking flat black "truck bed liner" it worked great. My dad had painted his motorcycle with it so I decided what the hell. I was bored. Just wanted to know what you guys think.
The paint:
A little close up of the hood:
The hood:
As you can see the car is pretty faded.. just thought this would look a little nicer let me know what you think.

Modification: Changing something to what you thought it should have been from the start!
I did mind flat black as well, after all the years of stones hitting the front I figured it would be easier to touch up than red paint when it happened again.
Black hoods, in my mind, are the refuge of people who wish they had carbon fiber hoods but can't afford them. Or Initial D fans. Either way, I'm not big on 'em.
But if you like it, that's all that matters.
EDIT: I prefer painted headlight covers with the stock hood:

lol to each his own right? Im not trying to make it look carbon fiber i figured it would look better than a faded ass burnt red hood haha
I disagree with the carbon fiber hood comment as well. As I said earlier I did mine black because the shape of the coupe hood allows for a lot of stones to hit it head on which takes paint off, flat black is just easier to touch up.
Besides the idea behind the flat black hood comes well before people were using carbon fiber hoods. They did it because it a lot of the older cars you could see most of the hood and could get glare off of it from the sun and such. Flat black got rid of the glare.
Yep, to each their own. And from the large numbers of black hooded cars I see around here, I'm in the minority.
Question about that bed liner: does it go on smooth or is it a rough texture? Looks textured from the pics.
It's more of a rough texture, i'm going to do another coat because there are some streaks on it.. I only did 2 coats but yeah I think i'm gonna end up doing the whole car. But the "paint" costs almost $10.00 a can!!!!
