I can't decipher what you've provided, but there should be a sticker with some information on it that you can read under where the driver's door latch is on the body of the car, the year will be found on it.

Yep.

AE95 = 6th gen with 4A-# engine and AWD -taken from one of Jeff's older posts I came across.

yep... sounds like an 89-92 ALLTRAC wagon.

BTW, if you look in the driver side door either on the door itself OR on the side with the door striker (where the lock catches on the body) there should be a plate that tells you all the info about your car, including the actual build date.

actually, the 5 in the VIN # might not mean ALLTRAC wagon/sedan now that I think about it... my GTS VIN starts with JT2AE98 so yeah.

No, AE95 in the VIN doesn't mean it's AWD, my SR5 has a VIN# that starts with AE95, but says AE92 on the firewall (not the VIN number, the chassis number)

That's why I'm wondering where he read his VIN number from... the door, the dash or did he read the chassis code on the firewall and thought that was his VIN number.

It should have a sticker under the hood either on under side of hood or right in front of you in engine bay that will tell you the year of your car. If not, open your driver door and look down on the door jam, there will be a sticker also telling you what pressure your tires should be at and usually has the year and month somewhere. If it says like (for example) 03/89 then it's a 89. If it's like 06/89 or after then it's usually a 90. Because most car makers release next years model half way through the previous year.
