Sourcing your swap ST-BT20V/GZE/Etc.

After developing a rod knock in my 4AGE @ 187,000 miles I've done my homework and decided to swap with a ST-20v most likely with a plug and play harness from Dr. Tweak.

I'm looking to get the best price/shipping, and while I noticed a lot of discussion on which motor is better not too many people seem to be talking about SOURCES for motors aside from eBay.

I'm hoping to get some input from those who have successfully swapped in a 20v, gze, or other motor, as to where the best/cheapest source seems to be, torontojdm, bestofjdm, etc.

Possibly discuss the cost of your swap, quality, shipping and so on....hopefully we can get everyone some killer deals.

Thanks!

Not sure about the US but there's a lot more places in the Toronto area than just torontojdm, there's also a place out of Montreal that sells the swap, most of them sell them with everything attached to them (harness, ecu, transmission, etc..) for around $1500US plus shipping.

Thanks for all your help guys, looks like I'm going to do another low mileage 16 valve so I can get the car back on the road as it is my daily driver and I need to devote my budget to another build.

Def keep this thread going though, the last post is one of the best deals I've seen w/free shipping, and the blacktop is actually listed for a cheaper price than the silver!

*update - Looking more closely at my ST I found my harness that is supposed to be UNCUT was cut in a few places, most importantly at the fuse/relay box. I've found a few sources to figure out what the wires are but if anyone has a wiring diagram for the ST specifically 93' or link to one please let me know thanks.

is it cut after the relay box? if so that's normal. you have to wire that into the lights and stuff. You should use your stock relay box anyway.

uncut just means the it's uncut where it plugs into the ECU.

Is Dr. Tweak still doing your harness? If so, he'll take care of it even if it's cut. It might be a bit more though if is CUT near the ECU.

Yea it was right after the relay box, only prob is I don't know which wire is which to splice into my ae92 relay box, I found that diagram though and I'm going to give it to my mechanic.

I'm not doing the dr. Tweak harness because I'm doing some work trade with my mechanic to get the swap done and he's doing all my wiring. As long as I can find out where he needs to splice the cut wires in I'm golden.
