Engine bogging

Have had this problem for quite a while now, no one has ever found anything. Lived with it for a while but know i'm seeling the car so i want it fixed.

When stepping on the accelerator, the engine starts bogging and doesn't accelerate like iit looses all its power. I have to floor the car so it stops bogging. This problem disapears when the TPS is unplugged but i changed the TPS and it didn't solve the problem. The car also had erratic revving. Sometimes it start revving really high for no reason. Sent it to Toyota and other mecanics without any luck. any ideas?

Start by checking for check engine light codes. Sometimes they are stored but dont trigger light. Here is article on how to retrieve them and what they mean:

no codes...when i chek for codes the chek engine light blinks 2 times per second wich means there no apparent problem...no vacuum tubes seem to be craked. I noticed something else...when the TPS is plugged and the car is at normal operating temp when i get to a stop and the engine is idling...the idle starts rising and falling very quickly and regularly. When the TPS is unplugged and the car is at normal operating temp the idle sometimes just gets really high for no reason and stay like that a couple of minutes before it goes back to normal

have you checked the wiring for the TPS?

when you installed the new tps, did you just slap it on there or did you follow the very specific instructions on how to set it?
