Canada Rear Bumper Rebar

I have a 1990 Toyota Corolla LE 4dr Sedan. The rear bumper rebar has corroded to the point of failure. Can anyone recommend an economical replacement source for this part. I've tried salvage yards (all rear bumper rebars corroded like mine), and auto part after-market suppliers (none have this rebar in stock). I'm trying to avoid the dreaded Toyota dealership replacement price. Thanks for any suggestions.

a. keep looking at the junkyards, you may find one but chances are you won't.

b. leave it be, unless your car is supermint (which sounds like it's not) then most likely the car would be deemed a write-off by your insurance company either way... save your money.

AE92

Home-make... measure it out and weld something up... Or just keep looking, you'll find a better one eventually at least.

even if the car was in amazing condition because of the age the insurance would write it off anyways. But I think the bumper is worth fixing. I've been rear ended twice and the car came out both times without a scratch. The first time was a 4 door ae92 so it was also fine. The second car was my friends seabring... it wasn't so lucky. Not to mention hitting that deer with the front bumper. Screw the JDM bumpers when ours can actually take large animals down lol.

The scrap yard is about the only place you are going to get an easy replacement, other than fabricating something yourself as the last guy said. If I was you I'd check every scrapyard within an hour or so drive. Is your front one in crappy shape too?

I've checked all the salvage yards in Windsor, Waterloo, Kitchener, and Cambridge. I'll continue the search. The front rebar is in good condition. Thanks.

Try toronto ones, Standard Auto wreckers in Scarborough, Megacity wreckers, there's a few more around.

Canada Rear bumper rebar

I've searched out some of the wrecking yards in Toronto (Standard auto wrecking and Megacity). I'm unable to locate this part. Are there any aftermarket suppliers that carry this part in stock? Thanks.

for a car this old, parts like that usually aren't around new anymore. Try cookstown auto. I used to go there a lot for stuff, couple years ago they had A LOT of ae92's.
