AE92 wheel hub/rotor question

Alright seems i get one problem off to get into another one LoL. Anywys seems i got a prob nd doubt, first between the wheel bearings and tires. Its been to my experience that i could tell the difference between if i had bad bearings or tires on my SexyTercel when i had it but now with my AE92 its another story since i cant tell. Last thing im gonna try is by runnin rear tires to the front nd see if the vibration and roughness changes. If not imma go to the bearings. Now another prob with my rotor if it is that. Seems my left front tire has a lil play, took out the tire nd check the rotor and it had a lil play, like it could move in nd outward. Should i change the rotor or its good and it could just be a lil loose?

BTW long time since i had commented on my oil press problem. I got a new pump and changed it. I checked the original one that was on and it seems they had tampered or made a lil tune on it by puttin a washer on some spring or some part on the pump hence making the oil pump do more pumping than normal. I checked and compared with the new one and now its throwing 52lbs of pressure on idle....with the original pump it was doing 75lbs of pressure AT ALL TIMES. Never heard of this kind of tune but at least id like to let you all guys how it went

that's kinda weird that they would try to "mod" the pump to throw more pressure.

Let's start off... Your lugs holds down your wheel AND rotor. So, with the wheel and lugs off, your rotor should be loose unless there's some corrosion still holding it in it's place.

When wheel bearings go bad on any car, likely you should hear like a metallic scraping sound when ever the car is rolling. The sound usually gets louder as speeds increase, depends on how bad the bearing has worn. And on some cars or severe worn out bearings, with the wheel still lugged on, you can shake the wheel side to side, up and down, and diagonally. If there's looseness, check your tie rods (inner & outer), ball joints, control arm bushings and bearing. It'll be good to have another person shake the wheel while you are feeling around for worn parts and observing things that shouldn't move or doesn't move correctly.

yea i did that so far everythin else is holding up and on good condition..the only thing movin was the whole rotor that had a lil play like inward or outward but i dont know if ithe rotor is just loose and needs more tightening or its worn out. As for the bearings im still gonna try changin the tires to see if it is that or the bearings cause it has happened before to me that ive had the same kind of vibration nd sound and when had put new tires on it has stopped

As for the pump trick Ren its weird to me too, i didnt even noe u could do that...but still i didnt get wats the pro on it. The weirder part is that the whole pump even after it had been pumping 75lbs at all times its still good working condition, its not worn or nothing else besides the supposed washer trick it had might been damage or broke off so it started pumping like any other replacement or original aisin s2 pump

Check the axle nut for the correct torque, that could give you wheel play and bearing noise.

A #2 phillpis screwdriver through the fins inside the rotor to stop it against the caliper, will help you to toeque the axle nut by yourself.

Bad bearings can make many sounds from a metal scraping sound, a chirping like a bird, a humming sound to a low growling noise.

Run some lug nuts down to hold the rotor in place before you try it for play.

well as it goes i gave it another check nd it seems it was that the nut is only loose, gave it a lil tightening as i could and made a test drive and im gettin no vibration as before...of course it could be posible the other side could be loose too so imma go tight it right 2morrow with an air press gun. How did it get loose??...no freakin idea at least i can tell its posible that my bearing could be in perfect conditions..even if the roads there in the US are rivaled to a nascar race track unlike here in Puerto Rico its totally incredible how i still got the original bearings on mint condition

Don't just tighten that nut with an air gun. You could strip it or not get it tight enough.
Use a torque wrench and do it right.

Those bearings are very durable. I have pulled 4 sets of them, and most were good. The bad ones were always ones that had been exposed and got water in them (fron the junk yard)
They usually only have problems if the nut is not torqued.

Sometimes people don't realize that nut holds the two halfs of the bearing together.
I am glad it's fixed.
