Removing 90 Corolla Sr5 Taillights

i am looking to tint the tail lights in my 90 corolla Sr5 and want to safely remove the tail lights...i recently went to the auto wreckers to get another set my in the process of removing them i snapped the bolts right out of the light when traying to remove it and im looking for advice on how to remove them safely without having this happen again before i start doing it myself...

undo the nuts and be very careful? I know some have a seal to keep the water out and some have silicone... The silicone will hold the light there and make it harder to get off.

WD40 the sh!t out of the bolt first... that or spray some of that release spray.

Thanks for the heads up also, as I'm thinking of redoing the seals on my tails... I probably would've snapped them.

LPS lubricant spray is even better than wd40 for bolts and nuts..

IMHO

I forgot to add Gunk spray lube.. too

But i think its just more then the bolts i think its more of the seals around the nights sticking to the metal i was thinking of tinting the lights while they were on the car and just tape around everything but that would be a bad idea and didnt wanna risk it one bit and i wanted to make sure how to do it safely without having to look around everywhere trying to find new taillights..

try using a razor blade/utility knife and slicing through the seal. thats what i had to do when i took off my tails.
