Carbon fiber parts? I'm planning on doing some custom work... Some... ALOT... All interior stuff. Since it'll be my learning project, wonder if anyone was interested in buying something that I'll be making (if successful) so I can probably make more than one of... Not sure how far I'll go through with this, depends on the first time results...
Also, to throw this one in... Can you have the black air cleaner box installed over the velocity stacks on a silver/black top? I don't know for sure, myself... so...

I believe the carbon fiber parts you will get most interest in are hood and trunk lids.
The stock hood on the coupe especially is very heavy.

+5 million
I've seriously considered getting a VIS hood just because the stock one is so heavy. I would probably say it's right around 40 lbs at least maybe 50lbs.
I decent carbon fiber hood will be 10-20 lbs which is a considerable improvement. you probably won't get anywhere close to that replacing a lot more stuff...

Dont forget the power sunroof, that shits pretty heavy if you remove the whole contraption from the roof. If that whole thing was carbon fiber that would be straight gangster sauce.
And man, I forgot how good chicken pot pies are, mmm.
If you are looking to replace the factory stacks inside the airbox with aftermarket yes you can but will have to get very short stacks or find a tom's air box but that will be $.
Yes I would love a fiberglass or carbon fiber hood or trunk lid.

I weighed mine when I did the engine swap. It weighed in at exactly 40 lbs.

Wow, a lot of people are into the hood. I may do a carbon fiber hood, damn thing is heavy.
Hopefully, I can skip the 250 degree step in carbon fiber. Otherwise it'll be a dud.
But I was planning more on carbon fiber door panels, dash, and other dash and console pieces.
It's a good project, I think. Once my money looks a bit right, I'll invest in some carbon cloths and resin and go about doing smaller, simpler pieces and see how that works out.
Hopefully it does. So I can break off to doing other cars and make some money to put in towards my car
ah, touche Red. I have seriously thought about that. However, I need the actual GTZ scoop so I can make a fiberglass mold. It would definately look nice with a carbon hood. And it's something I can fit in the oven, just incase.

Hmmm, maybe someone on here would allow you to borrow their's for a mold if you offered them a free CF one in return? Just a thought, I know anyone with one would be hard pressed to part with their's for a short time but you never know.
