I will never understand why people can't respect other people's things. Then again seems like a lot of the little bastards running around at night have no respect for anyone or anything. The ones who broke in my car were most definitely teenagers adults around here don't break into a car and check every empty cigarette pack and only steal the faceplate and remote but leave the actual head unit... Then again without a tool kit you won't get it out of my dash, I didn't exactly use small screws (this was why I didn't).
I really don't think these people think of what will happen if we were to catch them. For instance I will catch at least 1 of them since I can run very fast. Also enraged I will begin to beat the crap out of who ever I catch. They seem to fail to realize our cars tend to mean a lot to us. It's funny when I reported my case to the cops though, and when I told the cop it's probably good I didn't catch them doing it because I would have beat the crap out of them, the cop responded "I would have helped" lol. A lot of the break ins now aren't so they can steal things of value, more so just to vandalize someone else property.

Yes, I know another variation, like the students who take out all the books out of the libary that is within their competitor's research just so that they could keep everyone else's grade lower in university. Unfortunately, this is not illegal since they legitimately withdraw the book out of the library using their library cards. The hard part of this is, even if they openly admit to what they are doing, there are no consequences, other than karma.

Scytek.com sells car alarms with cameras. I'm determined to see the face of the next guy who breaks into my car. Hopefully will definately lead to justices... my way and the legal way.

Ha, or if its someone you know, go to their car and do things like put some stuff some stryofoam or sugar into the gas tank or prehaps some sand in the engine or even better drain the oil and put some silicate in it and lots of it.

Have you touched much stuff in your car since then? I was gonna start start getting the thing fingerprinted. I'd just go get a regular camera and find a way to hide it where you park your car and whatever it records onto like a tape or cd or card then make sure it records long enough to last while your sleeping. If nothing happens, erase everything and record again the next night. I don't have the money for an actual camera system lol.
All visible fingerprints were outside my car. Mother nature didn't cooperate, moisture condensed on the car and ruined it all. So, the only thing that may have any luck is the screwdriver that was left in my car. The officer took that in.
Like I said, this didn't happen at my home. It happend at my friends apartment. For that, I may have to bait the car and pretend like I'm actually parking the car and going away while someone who's already there keeps an eye on my car.
If you have the serial number of the gps, you can report it to the manufacturer. Garmin specifies this in the owner's manual. From what I remember reading, the device CAN be tracked when reported stolen. Nothing to lose.
been awhile now though, chances are the people who stole it don't have it anymore. Although it can lead to getting the device back (if it's not smashed to bits) it most likely won't lead to catching the people who did it.
this is why i got rid of my stereo....... my bros car got broken into and they tried but couldnt get into my tercel..... after that i ripped it all out and sold it hahah
sorry to hear abot your stuff getting jacked man, i know the feeling, it sucks mad balz
To the OP. I feel your pain. My corolla got broken into pretty much the same way. broke quarter glass. Atleast they didnt take anything. My faceplate wasnt in the car. They did mess up my ignition lock cylinder. I guess they were trying to steal the whole car. Bastards!
