I'm so pissed right now on the inside. I don't know who or what to take my rage off on. This is the second time it has happend to me. Last time, it was in a 3hr period out front of my house at 3:00am to 6:00am. This time, 20 minutes between 2:40am and 3:00am. I cannot believe it! I'm soo f---ing pissed...
My Sony head unit gone, radar detector gone, GPS gone (I'm more worried for this one), my sony 12" is gone along with the box I made for it, and my 1000w sony amp.
I'm partially pissed at myself. I should've locked the trunk like I usually would, should've taken the faceplate, kept my GPS on me like usual, screw the detector. Screwed up part, I have a Viper alarm after the first break in. However, my leg hit the reset switch for it and I could never problem solve on why it wouldn't work thereafter.
I really don't know how else to take this except as a learning experience. I'm planning on re-installing the stuff once I get the money. Fix the alarm and add in my air horn like I had planned. Weld and bolt in a metal cage for the trunk so it'll be idiotic to try the take the sub. And install a kill switch that wouldn't allow the car to start, which can easily be done because I currently have to jump a wire from the trans to start it everyday thanks to my AT to MT swap.

If I knew how to I'd install some kind of device that would cause the outside of the car to become electrostatic so that when someone other than myself touches to the car it would shock them. Not enough to kill them but enough to make them think twice. And put a window sticker saying something along the lines of, "Do not touch, fair warning!" I don't think it would work to well since I don't think it exists and they could still open the door cause the handle itsself is plastic and they wouldn't have to touch the car.
yah that really sucks, my car got broken into a while back, it really f**king sucks. Within 20 mins man, someone has been watching you. if you replace the stuff you better get that alarm working. even better if you have a garage you can park it in. Wish you better luck in the future man
another great tip, turn your music off a mile from where you live...or farther. turn it off before you get into your neighbor hood.
I have actually done that, there has been RARE occasions I had the system turned up that loud wherever I'll be parking. Also, it can be at a low level, my friends across the street me they can still here me coming and mistaken me for one of their siblings since they have systems too.
This happend at my friends' apartment, not my place. We all decided to go in and sit. 20 minutes later, I come out, key in hand, about to stick the key into the door and notice the trunk slightly open. Then I figure there was no way I could've opened the trunk, I haven't for days and no reasons for. Opened it, tools all thrown about, they took the bag the tool was in, and just saw a big empty space. Walked out and look inside, WTF!
The problem is leaving your stuff out in the open where any punkass can see it, hide your gps or put it lower where it can't be seen... tinted windows usually help too.

I know somebody who did something like this (in Jamaica) to keep stray dogs from peeing on his aluminum wheels. ............. long extension cord, how exactly, I don't know.
It work for the dogs, but I think a thief would figure it out.
Here I think it is illegal. If somebody was to die, you would be charged with pre-meditated murder. (Boobytrap)
Anyway, that sucks man. I feel it for you.
It's bad enough that they take your stuff, but they leave everything else all busted up.

GPS was in the glove box, they dug in there and threw the stuff on the floor. And the windows are tinted, 35%. Anything lower is illegal for MD. bastards.
Besides the broken stuff they left, a screw driver was left that I believe was used to pry the dash apart. I knew it wasn't mine, I have nothing that's clear with green stripe handles. Hopefully the cops can pull prints off of it. There were also prints on the trunk, however, mother nature decided to moisturize the night with condensation. Bitch.
I'm planning on reinstalling an alarm with an air horn and stuff. If no one wakes up to it, then it looks like they're likely going to burn in a fire. Also, I'm making new sub enclosure mock-ups so I can use the most minimal space and install custom metal bars in the trunk so it can't be removed but enough room to access the spare. I think that'll help with stiffening up the chassis or whatever also in the rear.
It is usually some one you know. I am sorry to say. 20 min, must be someone in the apartment. Put in a cellphone hidden recording and bait them again. Take the vid to the cops and throw the punks in jail. Or just wait and beat thier ass.
Wait and beat their ass is the likely choice. And then call the cops and just say he tried to mug me. I believe in torture and no death. Death is easy and is not always painful.
When I had my sentra broken into the took the radio which was bought the day before. They didn't tear stuff apart, just kindly took it apart. Even the connections in the back of the radio was gently pulled out of the electrical tape wrapping. And my corolla suffered the same thing the same night. The took the subs and amp out of the trunk but left the 6 by 9 speakers in the rear window for some reason and when they detached my faceplate and saw my radio was a tapedeck they decided against it and left it. They destroy anything just left it nice and clean. Lucky for me I got everything but the subs back. Serial numbers are amazing

Like I said, not enough to kill them but enough to make them think twice. Like a taser. Something to shoot them to the ground but leave them alive and well.

I need to get the serial number for the GPS that was taken. That's the only thing I find valuable, because it has my address programmed into it. I got the box it came in. Hopefully, the GPS can navi itself home. I can sleep easier, just a bit, if that happens.

Id get as much information as you can. Serial numbers, item descriptions and take it to the police. Yes its almost a waste of time but if they find it its worth it. Go to pawn shops in your city and surrounding cities and give them the information and check their stuff. Is there place you can call asking if they can locate your gps? Some place should be able to locate it and tell you where its at. After that take the biggest wrench you have and a staple gun and go raise some cain! No no don't do that.
