My Vehicle Buying History
Bought 1999 Ford Taurus for $350.00: Drove it for 7900km sold it for $1000.00 1000-350 - 650
Bought 1992 Toyota Corolla for $650: Drove it for 10,600km sold it for $800
Bought 1989 Toyota Corolla for $250 yesterday
I put on this year 18,500km between the new cars.
No maintenace was done on the car whatsoever on the two previous cars since I bought it. I think I sold the 1992 a bit too cheaply since I bought it with the profits that I made off the 1999 Taurus Wagon.
When I bought the 1989, I noticed that the window fog actually disappears turning on the AC and fan. With my 1992, heat came out only from the sides, and the fan motor was not working. Also, the car did not honk as the horn did not work all the time, and only worked when I went over a speed bump really fast as with the fan motor. I think it is electrical, and very easy to fix, so they bought it anyway. The muffler had a hole in it I think, but I don't know if it is the exhaust or the muffler. Also, the right front bearing is in need of replacement as I hit a curb a couple of times since I was not able to see with the fog. I had to drive with a rag in my car that I had to wipe, but it did not do a good job. My 1989 Corolla that I bought for 250 actually has none of these problems. I also drove for a couple of weeks with the brakes sqeaking a bit. I guess this means that the brake shoes are in need of replacing in the next few months. I didn't bother, since the next guy would have at least a few months worth of driving without worrying about that. I noticed that the parking brake does not go up so high on my 1989, like it did on my 1992. Unfortunately, after driving for only 6 months and 10,600km, I had to sadly part with my Corolla for a meager $800.00 when I should have gotten $1500.00 at the very least, feeling a bit insulted that I didn't get back my insurance money like I did with a Ford. And a Toyota is a far better car than a Ford!
Maybe I sold the car too low, but with a 1989 on the road, I didn't want to pay for 2 insurances.
