I really would like to know about the mounts and axle shaft mod requirements.

Exactly what I was thinking.
I was watching Beyond Tomorrow on the Science Channel; They were talking about the Lotus Exige S which has a 1.8L 4cyl 2ZZGE Supercharge that kicks out like 250hp something. And Lotus are fast cars and shit, with that motor I can have a LOTUS! Except in actual corolla form and minus the $80k the Exige go for.
If I could ever get into the import business, Euro- and Jap- cars will be coming over here. Though, $$$.
I looked up the 2ZZGE's. I can't believe it, the 2003-2008 Pontiac Vibe came with 1ZZ while the same years Pontiac Vibe GT came with 2ZZ. Choice of 5spd, 6spd or cheesy 4spd auto. The Matrix XRS as well. I need to look for these ugly Vibes and XRS in the junkyard.
Speaking of that, I had never realized before that the Vibe was a Matrix til I went to do a battery on a Vibe GT at work and found myself looking at a 2zz, after the second or two of confusion then it clicked lol

yeah, they were built in the (now closed) NUMMI factory in California, which was a joint venture between GM and Toyota. It's also where they built a bunch of corolla sedans and all the Chevy Prizms and also the last generation Nova (AE82).

yea, in Japan, Toyota sells (or sold, I think it was shirt lived) the Toyota Volt, which is the Pontiac Vibe, even with the same Pontiac trademark grill, minus the Pontiac logo and add the Toyota "T". Not sure about the engine, pretty sure the volt had pretty low horsepower. It's in Gran Turismo 4, I believe.
but having a supercharged AE92 with a 6speed would be freakin insane, cuz this car is so light, it would scoot around dusting fools who are completely unsuspecting lol
You do realize that the the Matrix / Vibe / Volt are really just a 4dr Corolla hatch back.
Just like the Venza is essentally a Camry wagon.
I think even the 1ZZ might be an upgrade if it isn't too much of a heart ache to transplant in.
It doesn't have the power of the 2zz, but they are more readily available.
Finding one at a reasonable co$t is still a big factor though.
My main reason for interest in these engines is that parts for them can be had here, unlike parts for a 20V. But a 20V or a GZE would be much cheaper.

Yeah that s**t would be sick as f**k. But probably scary as well haha. If you could keep the thing straight while flooring it.
