Need help with stereo

Hey guys i now i havent been here in a long time. but i was wondering for anyone who had a 92 toyota, with the antenna plug in for the stereo it doesn't work with the aftermarket sony thats in it. Right now my dad is driving the toyota and his stereo gets 2 stations and he wants to get all of the others (of course). So my question was will an adapter from best buy work or do i have to do something drastic. any help would be great. he helps me with the trans am so i would like to atleast give him a stereo that receives more then two stations.

? I've been through 2 radios. One broke, one stolen. The last one was a sony CDX GT 710.

Both of them had the antenna plug on the backside, the toyota factory antenna plug snaps perfectly into it. You should receive more than just two channels, I don't remember any settings on my past sony radios that will effect what station frequencies you can receive other than FM or AM.

At least in Europe there are two types of connectors for the antenna: the old one which is quite long and the new one that is more flat. You can easily get adaptors for both ways for a few bucks on a shop that have car stereos and such stuff.

corollas have the regular antenna plug, most cars come with this style... is it even plugged in? chances are if it is that the cable itself has a cut somewhere along the line from the stereo going to the antenna.

Yeah my 89 corolla has a normal antenna plugin as well. The only other size I've ever seen is usually in GM cars and it's a smaller antenna head you can just buy a cheap adapter for.
