AE92 Starter location?

I have a 92 sedan that's been giving me trouble in the mornings to start up. I replaced the battery yet I get the starter clicking every once in a while. All the accessories work fine but the aar won't start. Preliminary testing at oreilly said the starter and alternator were ok. however the guy told me to bring them in for further testing. I got alternator off but I'm stumped as to where the starter is. I took off the intake assembly and I see a big thing right under my brke booster that reads to tank and purge. Then there's one thing right next to it. Where is the starter? I have a 92 sedan a/t. Also could a worn alt belt cause this?

The starter is located under the intake manifold, bolted up the transmission housing but lies between the engine and the chassis firewall. It's about the size of a typical soup can. If you go under the car, you'll see it better and can't miss it.

Worn belts are usually dried/ cracked, frayed, etc. Other than that would be it's tension. A worn belt would not cause your problem unless the belt was too loose or was not there at all.

IMO, I think it's your starter in its early stages of failure.

The starter is on the side of the engine block under the intake manifold (the metal part).
One bolt head is on the transmission housing, accessible from the left side. The other bolt will probably be easier to get to from underneath the car.

Thanks for the quick response. I have some experience working on this car just not much. Is there anything else I should remove besides the air filter/box and hose. I'm having a hard time getting to the starter. I was able to disconnect one terminal but that's it.

It can be a bitch to get to. Like Donald said, going beneath the car is better. You can access the bolt that goes through the starter and threads in the trans housing and the wires. On top of the car, you have access to the top starter bolt that goes through the trans housing and threads into the starter.

And the starter comes out through the top, at least that's the only way I managed to get mine out. It does require a little puzzle solving cuz of the tight area.

If my memory serves me right, you can get it out the bottom if you pull the brace that goes from the block to tha intake manifold.
Don't hold me to this. Been a while since I last did it.
