i've been looking around for lowering springs and struts and I wanted to know if I put an Eibach Pro-kit with a 1" drop on my 88 SR-5 and use KYB GR-2 Excel-G struts will it damage the struts or should I try and find adjustable struts from like koni or some other maker
I think you will be good with GR-2s all around. That is what I had before and they worked fine.
Now I have the KYB AGX adjustables on the front, and the GR-2s on the back.

thats good, I was told that I could blow out the GR-2s fast but if others have pulled it off with out a hitch I should be fine, what was the part number of the AGX's you have on the front for I want to swap to those

I have heard that also, but I don't think those Eibach springs are stiff enough to blow the GR-2s unless you have really rough roads in your area.
Maybe with stiffer springs that could be possible. I have only had my setup for about 4-6 months (not sure)
The part number for the AGXs is in another post on here somewhere. I don't remember what it is. You will find it if you do a search.
To uste tha AGX you will need the front struts from a GT-S, because the AGXs are cartridges, and I don't think the SR-5 has cartridge front struts.
I believe the front strut housing for a MK1 MR-2 will work.

Its not the stiffness that blows the shocks. Its the fact that you bottom the pistons in the cartridge to the bottom valve assembly.
Good, I haven't bottomed mine yet

Which one you guys think is better, those struts with lowering springs or coilovers? I can't really decide which. Except I know I'll want to raise the ride height to normal by winter but have it lowered again by anything but winter...
With fully adjustable coil-overs (like K-Sports) you can do that, but I've got to tell you, (if you didn't read my post about the K-Sports - K-Sport Coil-overs )
I don't recommend coil-overs for the street.

I'd recommend getting ground control coilover sleeves. you can run whatever spring rate you want. I would get better shocks that GR-2s though if you plan on lowering it a decent amount.
