4A-FHE Block heater

Hi there,
Does anyone know if a 4A-FHE will accept the toyota block heater for the 4A-FE? I've got a lower rad hose, but it while it warms the engine so that it turns over easily, I think it makes the computer think the engine is hotter than it is at startup, so the quick-idle is turned off when it should be on, and it takes 3 tries to start the car, in -25. Without the heater, it would just start in -25, but I could tell it was not good for the engine.
Cheers,
Mark

the lower hose warmers dont work too well on a toyota, because the thermostat blocks waterflow to the engine. Yeah, 4A-F and 4A-FE heaters work, I have a defa heater on mine.

Cheers,
Mark

My mechanic says he can get a toyota block heater - any reason you chose DEFA over that?

Cheers,
Mark

Because Defa and Calix are the two makers out here in north europe and they work. Everybody has either one, spare parts are readily available. I'm willing to bet the toyota one is either one, just with toyota pricing

We've had defas on our cars always.
