Cool. Who said that smallports weren't good engines? Mines has 202K mi (325088 km) and it passes with the original CAT although barely. I'm hoping an untampered MAF will fix the high HC reading.

well REN69's car fails e-test hard.... its a smallport,

his old car that my brother drives now has a bigport in it, which he never had issue with passing e-test, which was related to better maintenence and up-keep, not wether it was a bigport/smallport

yeah, I think I gave the 89 GTS more love than the 90... I drove it to work for 3yrs straight, 150km a day for 3yrs with oil changes like every 2months... bought it at 211k then sold it to you at 349k and it ran beautiful, until the 90 gts came along and I started parking it for longer terms, that's when the fuel line broke, then you got a deal.

The 90 GTS I think sat parked too much of its life, previous owner never drove it in winter, then he moved to Hong Kong I think in 01-02, so it sat for 3+yrs parked in his dad's garage until his cousin bought it thinking it was RWD when he figured it wasn't he posted it here, I got it at 140k and it only has 189k right now, that's what... a quarter of the km's in 5yrs compared to the 89 GTS... things tend to "fail" when parked for too long.

my smallport failed emissions..... so, then I just registered it where I was actually living and that solved the problem.

I <3 smallports..... smallports > bigports > 4af/4afe

Hey Nick I grabbed that one from Ottawa this past weekend, 2011 project hopefully if finances allow. Has a clean sunroof panel and not much else but its still saveable, might make it my driver for next year.
