OK first off i sincerely apologize for my shitty crackberry photos... i'm lazy and will eventually get better pics...
















also replaced windows with lexan and rear doors are gutted

yes but that requires more labor than what i have so far... ill have to pull the complete dash first...

but yes next stage is Dash bar, door bars, roof-loop and a-pillars. and ill connect the main hoop to the C-pillers from the floor up to complete the triangles

although your cage was my inspiration i think you'll agree im taking it a step further by using chromoly and welding everything completely.

my a-pillars will stay tight all the way to the dash bar and i may just pull the whole thing out... and the door bars will have to hug the body as close as humanly possible to avoid injuries.

also everything has been gusseted and reinforced where the mounting points are with 1/8" chromoly plates that follow contours and we added more material at the feet

have you thought about having it go through the firewall up to your front strut tower bars?

I also highly recommend making the front bars go through your dash instead of around like flashmn's

a straight bar is always stronger than a bent one... i don't agree...

and yea mike i've considered it but dunno if its really worth the cost... see i want to maximize the replace-ability of the entire car
i'd like to be able to replace the chassis every few years and 2000 of cage would be a really shitty loss...

so bottom line... maximize my safety minimize the car's... make sense?

and as far as handling I've only done a few on-ramp off-ramp pulls and things like that but it looks like over steer is a bit easier probably snappier... other than that the k sports remain the same seems like cage would be last on somebody's list of handling mods

oh but i will probably buy some fender bars hopefully from ultra racing because they just bolt on underneath bracing the strut tower

and i'm thinking about making a chromoly tower bar tri-bar style like the trd ones
