About 76ft/lbs of torque... That's for most cars.

yup, I torque all my cars to about 80 ft lbs.

on stock steel wheels it doesn't really matter too much though as long as they're tight.

For 12mm x 1.5 lugs, which are what you have....the spec'd torque is 70 to 80 lbs/ ft. So, 75 is perfect.

Yep 76ft/lbs is the usual. That's the recommended torque setting in both the Haynes manual and the factory Corolla manual.

Always remember to tighten/torque them in the correct order. Top one first, bottom one second, right one third and the left one last.

If you over torque you risk stripping the stud and/or nut. I had too many of those to fix when I used to work at Sears. Some wheels had to grounded out so we could get access to the lug to cut or smash it off. Customer pays.
