Manual Steering turns itself.

So I picked up a 91 base model meaning...well power nothing.

But I'm new to toyotas but not having a manual rack. After hitting a certain point, and it seems to only be at certain speeds, the wheel will auto turns itself in the direction i was turning it.

Also, I'm pretty sure its the axles, but on full lock i get a metal to metal type of grinding noise. Just got a 4 wheel alignment done btw. Still fixing stuff.

sounds like memory steer....the rack may be loose on its mounting points...thats one cause of memory steer i forget if there is another...definitely check the rack and make sure it is mounted securely.

not really sure about the grinding could be a few things....

Check the outer axle joints for the noise

Found out the tires are either not balanced or out of round. Just gonna pick up some base model wheels for cheap.

Will report back on the other issues.

u should be able to get steelies for 25 bucks and tires start at like 30$ :P

I'm getting a set of oem steelies with fresh tires for 50 bucks. lol

I've searched around a bit but I didn't find anything conclusive. Does ae101 suspension fit our cars if we use the entire strut assembly? As in strut, spring, and top hat?

AFAIK, the tokico blues are better for a lowered ride then the gr-2s. And i think I saw agx's for the rear.

u can use ae92 supsension for tokiko just gotta look around.

as for ae101 u would need everything knuckles shocks brakes etc. and u may have to modify your tie-rod to fit properly.
