Hey guys i bought this car back in August of this past year for 1800. It was a bone stock car that was in pretty sad shape. Two motor mounts were bad, the had a bad radiator, missing the thermostat, a clogged EGR valve, blacker than the night sky transmission fluid, a bad starter (i found this out when i took it to get insured and had finally gotten the car to operating temperature[it would often not start when the car was warm, almost like the armature got so warm that it expanded and wedged into the shell of the starter]) a broken strut, and a leaking power steering rack. Interior wise, it had a broken door handle, missing two vents, blown speakers, a crappy deck, and a few bits and pieces. I have fixed everything except the power steering rack (i'm too lazy/don't have the time) mechanically wise. I have also fixed everything interior wise except for my back speakers (again too lazy/ not enough time) but i did install two 6 1/2 speakers in my front doors and removed the factory speakers out of the dash. I haven't done much for aftermarket mods. I have a set of clear lenses in for my front parking lights with blue bulbs, as well as blue bulbs in the front turn signal lenses since they are the factory clear ones (actually they're tinted black from something, but you can see the blue light come through). I have Xenon white bulbs in my headlights, and also a set of the blue bulbs in my reverse lights and license plate lights. I installed a Sony deck and speaker combo that my loving and supportive girlfriend bought for my project. I just recently installed a cold air intake with a Spectre air filter and a tube from idk what. One of my customers bought a civic and brought it to my dad's shop for some repairs. One of the complaints was that the aftermarket air filter didn't fit the tube and that it was resting on the battery. So i went to Auto Zoo and got her a smaller 45 degree elbow and a new filter and coupler. While i was there i snagged a filter for my car too. Then i put her old elbow and coupler on my car (which ironically was a too perfect of a fit) and installed the filter.
Also when i got the car, the front left rim was bent and the car couldn't do more than fifty. I eventually moved the wheel to the back and it smoothed out the ride and i could go about sixty sixty five, but i couldn't quite reach the interstate speeds. Lucky for me a guy from the neighboring tire shop that my shop does frequent business with bought a 95 plymouth neon (apparently even thought the dodge neon and plymouth neon are the exact same car, the plymouth uses a 4x100 lug set up and the dodge uses a 5x? set up) and installed aftermarket wheels on it. He knew that i was looking for a new set of wheels and sold me his old set with brand new tires for 200.
During this time one of dad's employees relative had a 91 corolla le that had just blown the engine up. Me and a different employee (he has an 88) both bought the car for 300 (150 ea) and stripped it down. I took the front struts and a motor mount and some of the miscellaneous interior parts. My car had a lame looking deck lid with only license plate lights on the back. the other car had a deck lid that was the same color and had the back fully filled and what appears to be and aftermarket spoiler (I only say this because there are three different bolts that hold down the spoiler)
This is all i can think of that i have done to get this baby back into good shape. I would put some pics up but i don't have a camera (i spend all my spare money on this budget build project...lol) I was gonna get rid of it for another car because i didn't see much of these that have been tinkered with, but then if found this forum and it saved me from making a decision that i would probably regret. It's a great car that is a one-off in my town. And since i plan on keeping the ghetto neon wheels to give the car a sleeper look, everyone will shit themselves when they realize that a corolla blew their doors off. Because future plans involve a turboed silvertop swap that also includes getting rid of the three speed for a five speed.
Whoever took the time in reading this, Thank you. Because that tells me that there are more people who support this project budget build.

I did not mean to chuckle when I read this, but I can't believe you paid $1800 for the car in the shape it was/is in. You got hosed and overpaid for what the car was worth. You made someone very happy when you took this car of their hands.
Woah, interesting read, sounds like the car was in pretty poor shape when you bought it. Good to hear that you're fixing everything though, sounds like you've got big plans for it in the future. Hopefully we can see some pics at some stage.

I bought the car in a blind sale, meaning i didn't look at it. It belonged to a customer of my shop and my dad told me that the car was in good shape. Turns out my shop didn't see the car for awhile, so the shape of the car deteriorated over time, unbeknownst to my dad.

I live in a town called kingman...aka...ktown. so why call it a Corolla, when my user name is ktownkrolla for a reason. I know how to spell and am one of the best spellers that people know. But i decided that Krolla was better than Corolla since it was going to be coming after the word Ktown. Therefore, MY corolla has been dubbed the "Krolla" K? got it? K, i figured you would. And if you read the full article, you would've gotten to the part where i said that i don't have a camera cuz i put all my money in to my project "Krolla"...K?
