water pump change

I have a 1990 gts with the 4age redtop. Do you have to jack the engine to change the water pump, cuz there doesnt seem to be that much clearance to pull it out
thanks

Take off the engine mount that's right next to it. Unbolt the four mini bolts holding the W/P pulley. You will not be able to take the pulley out, but at least it can move around and give you working room. Then, you can SAFELY pry the motor towards the driver side. If it's still not sufficient, you can use a jack under the engine and jack it a bit but making sure it doesn't lift the car. It should give you enough room without having to unbolt the other mounts.

I suggest you change your timing belt and tensioner while you're there.
