Lightbulb Custom AE92 Car Audio Systems

So I'm a big lover of Car Audio and the likes, and I was curious to see what other people have done to theirs. I want to see some custom stuff, and whatever you want to show off. Your subs/amps/speakers/decks. Just whatever cool things you've done to your Corolla, 4 door and 2 door.

Personally I have a 2 door GTS, and I was thinking about putting speakers in my doors, but I have power windows and cant remember if there's even room for speakers to fit in there.

But anyway, what have you guys done??? PICTURES!!!!

no room in there for speakers, just upgrade your speakers to high quality sets as well as a good headunit, ad an amp and sub and you're good.

I have 4" Power Acoustiks up front, 5.25" JL Audios in the rear, the headunit used to be an Eclipse 5V high end unit but not top of the line, I say used to be because it's now in the Protege. I'm also running a Nakamichi amp with a Rockford Fosgate 10" sub... good SQ system, I don't build my systems to wake up the neighborhood.

I'm in the process of making/installing my sound system and interior at the same time.

Will be running:

Sony GT740UI
Sony Component 6.5" Speakers/ Tweeters in the front
Some off-brand 6x9 rear speakers (will be sony).
Sony 12" Shallow-Sub
Sony Amplifier

I was gonna cut a hole in the door panel and rewire the 4 inchers to some 5.25's at least. Anyone else tried this?

Hah well right now my sound system isnt bad I just need a sub. I have a nice Pioneer Premier HU, with some high end Pioneer Premier 4in in front and 6.5's in back. It sounds really good and loud, but pretty much no lows. The way this car was designed you just don't seem to get crap for bass out of it. My ex girlfriend has a 95 Celica and her shit booms with I think stock speakers, hella good bass for stock. Im like Wtf??? haha.

When I had the sedan, I had a rather inexpensive stereo that sounded ok, it was pretty much just thrown together.

JVC basic head unit
generic front speakers
made a rear deck, made little speaker boxes to raise the speakers up and not have to cut into body undearneath there.
100w powered 10" bazooka tube.

meh, sounded ok, better than my blown factory front speakers with stock radio that only worked for AM.

I made something custom for my Hatch a few years back.

It weighed a ton (well...30kg's to be exact ) But sounded pretty ok for me at the time.
Pioneer HU, Pioneer 3-way speakers, Infinity 10" sub and JBL 4-channel amp.

I added some custom lighting aswell later on. For anyone who's wondering what BLØF stands for: Bløf is my favorite Dutch band

Was going to fabricate some custom door panels to be able to build in a 16cm compo-set in the front. Never got around to it.

Did make this for my current Carina E GTi though:

This setup does sound nice. With those Pioneer High-end 16cm seperate 2-way speakers, I don't really need a extra subwoofer.

Set-up in the Carina E:

Pioneer Head Unit
Separate 2-way High end Pioneer 16cm speakers front
Separate 2-way Alpine 12cm speakers rear to back up the front
All driven by a JBL 4-channel amp.

Still a budget set-up. Didn't want to spend to much money on it but I was pleasently suprised with the result!

And as some of you guys may have noticed already: Yes, I hate loosing space in my trunk for audio. That's the reason for the elaborate set-up in the Corolla and the reason why the amp sits where it does in the Carina

Ahh see thats the kind of shit I wanna see Blof-Fan hah nice. Those tweeter pods are sick, I thought about doing that to mine, I realized I need a little more highs above the dash, because the 4in below just dont bring enough. But the tweeters you put in there look exactly like the ones to the Pioneer speakers I got.

I got these http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...TS-D1002R.html
And these http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...+TS-D602P.html

Both hooked up to my Pioneer Premier deck and tuned right, it sounds really good, but I'm just missing the bass. So next I'm looking into getting a Premier sub/amp setup too haha. Probably a good single 10 will be fine for me.

I've got the TS-E170Ci in mine.
But after looking on the Pioneer USA site, I couldn't find them under that name. After searching for a bit I found out they are called differently in the US.
Pioneer USA sells them as the TS-D1720C

http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PU...neer/TS-D1720C

No need for a subwoofer with these speakers. They can get my rearview mirror vibrating all on their own!

But that may depend on how they are built into the car. In the Carina. They have the whole door that acts as an soundbox. That may help aswell

Ah damn yeah see you got speakers in your doors, it would sound a lot better with some 6.5's than my little 4'2 that are so big they barely fit as it is haha. Thats cool though, you got the same speakers I got in the rear, just the Component version, which is better hah. I bet it sounds good.

Wow nice systems. Right now my sound system has 16valves and dual overhead cams...

I have more plans for another car but I'm not even at that point.

I used to have a pretty nice system in my old 92 Celica. Check this out... all custom and put in/built by me.

Two 12'in Infinity Kappa subs powered by a Hifonics amp. Shit bumped hard! Sounded really good in that sealed box.

Had some nice ass high end MB Quart components. Sounded really good.

Built some 6.5in Infinity Kappa speakers into the doors, sounded awesome! All speakers powered by a Power Acoustik Amp. Great amps for the price.

And here's my old setup before this one, in a big ass ported box I made haha. Boomed pretty good but the sealed box actually sounded better.

And of course a Optima battery with custom alternator cable and nice battery clamps with digital voltage read-out on the positive.

I miss that car!
