sir you need to change the stock oil pressure sending unit of your 4afe to a rising-rate variant(like the one found on jdm 4age tvis and HH engines) before you can make any type of oil pressure gauge to work. it is much larger than the stock one.

the oil sending unit on the 4afe is located just behind-and a little bit below the alternator. it is threaded to the block and you may have to remove the alternator and its bracket to be able to unscrew it. the 4age oil sending unit will just fit right in with no mods .

It's on the same place on the 4age if you go and try to buy a used one. If you use the gts gauge (which I like since it looks stock since it kind of is just not for the sr5) the 4af/4afe run in the same oil pressure range as the 4age, at least close enough the gts gauge works perfectly.

Hey, not sure if youn ever figured it out but I bought a universal $20 oil pressure gauge at autozone and hooked it up. Turns out it didn't come with the proper fitting for our block but the fittings it did come with are brass and our block is steel, therefore if you screw it in jusst right you can squeeze it in there and just leave it because the brass is softer than steel. Also the tubing it came with was pretty short so I had to run it over the top of the block (making sure not to touch any exhaust) and by the oil cap and through the passenger side firewall right under the glove compartment. Btw the only way to get ahold of the oil pressure sending unit is to take out either the oil filter or the alternator.. It is a major pain.. As for having good pressure I don't have my Haynes manual on me but mine runs about 20-30psi at idle and 50-70 and even up to 80 at times on the move. Which From my understanding is pretty good..

Let me know what works and if I helped.

For mine I just spliced into the wires already in the dash for the power, light and such. The wires are colour coded if you get the stock harness bit for the gauges. So mine work with dimmer switch, oil and volt gauges. No one knows they aren't original.
