Canada AE92/GTS front end swap

Hello guys

It's taken awhile for me to find as much info as i have and even now I'm still skeptical about asking such a noob question but after reading all the searches i could find on the topic i still am at a lost...

I just received a 1991 toyota corolla coupe in a trade for my 240sx.. i have lost the need for speed urge and just want a clean reliable car but still have the modifying bug biting.. I came across the Levin front end conversion online , I've been holding off purchasing it because the one detail I've been missing is if I would need to replace the front radiator mount for the one coming with the swap?

Please shoot me a PM or post a message with any knowledge of any major issues that this swap would pose. From what I'm reading it sounds like a straight bolt on but I'm realistic and i know that's not very likely..Your help is much appreciated.

Thanks in advance...

David
PS. The sooner the better..

Hi David,

I know it sounds to good to be true, but it IS pretty much just a straight bolt on job. The only difference between the Treuno and de Levin are the bodypanels and the headlights.
Nothing has to be altered to the chassis or other parts and all the mounting point should already be there.

Only thing to keep into acount is that you are switching from the pop-up headlights to standard headlights, so the realais and switch for poping up the headlights have no function anymore.
And maybe you have to sort out the wiries for the headlights, but that is just minor stuff.

Good luck!

From what I heard the JDM bumper is smaller so some of the support braces may need to be removed.

You would have to remove the bumper rebar... which basically means you'd write-off your car in most accidents.

Thanks for the insight guys. Knock on wood about the accident thing...fabricating a rebar to fit behind the smaller bumper wouldn't be too hard...

that's what I actually thought, but I guess you would have to wait and see what can fit in there once the bumper is on.
