i have a 91, toyota corolla le, 4 dr. automatic im replacing the cv half shafts and balls joints and what not, what kind of transmission fluid do i need? and do i need it from the dealer. i called he said type 3 and hell if i know what that is. is that atf4? please help

We usually just use any transmission fluid we can find from the nearest gas station or parts store. Have had zero probs

Dexron 3 or better. I've been using the synthetic stuff given the age of the car, 91 as well.
