Trunk Leaks... WTH!

I have no idea where or how water is getting into my trunk.

I have removed the taillights before, so I may have opened a gap for water to come in thru there. There's also a fist size rust hole on the bottom behind the bumper on the right side.

But some excess water accumulation also occurs almost a few inches behind my back seat in the trunk area. I see no traces where the rear window is based at... This is annoying...

What do they use to seal the tails? I'll be replacing them soon anyways... and will repair that rust hole, but I doubt water flies up through it, I blocked it off with a shop rag, temporarily.

A month ago i found a crap load of water in my trunk after a few days of hard rain and found it was comming from my taillights. I removed them and scrapped off the black tar stuff they use to seal it and replaced it with some RTV silicone stuff. It seemed to do the trick cause its been raining for a few days now and its still bone dry. Try running some water over the top part of ur trunk and then open it and peel back the carpeting to see if there is any water leaking from ur taillights.

haven't we had these conversations before??? tail lights... unless you have a hole in the trunk seal, it's always the headlights.

have you taken all the carpet out? I found a large rust hole in my driver side strut tower which was leading to the back seat become saturated.
