JDM bumper brackets...

I sure would like to get rid of my GSi's goofy looking 5mph bumpers. I like the Prizm's look, so I don't want to do a front end swap off a wagon or Sprinter. I'm thinking about just replacing the bumpers. I've found a cool front and rear bumper but it doesn't include brackets. I've searched Ebay, this forum and others, but no luck. Does anyone know of a source for JDM AE92 sedan bumper brackets? It seems I think remember a thread saying it wasn't realistic to try to modify a USDM bracket to fit a JDM bumper. Any ideas?

BTW-maybe an easier (and dumb) question. I'm prompted for my URL when trying to attach a pic. What is my URL? You usually copy the path to the pic on your harddrive to attach... The FAQ answer didn't help. What's the secret?!

To add images to the thread you have to either upload the photos to a photo hosting website (such as PhotoBucket, ImageShack etc) and copy & paste the IMG code which is found underneath the photo, or upload the photos to your gallery on here and copy & paste the 'Linked Image' URL into the 'Insert Link' box (where it asks you for the URL). Hope that makes sense . If you're having trouble with it just send me a private message and I'll host them for you on my PhotoBucket account and send you the links to paste in here.

Thanks Kiwi-Corolla.

Here are the bumpers I came across. Some of you guys have probably seen them on Autostyle Motorsport's site out of South Africa. Does anyone know about this company?

That first bumper is just the OEM Euro spec. front bumper. I have it on my Hatchback:

Yeah, that's looks sweet. It may just be a OEM euro spec bumper but it looks WAY better than our USDM bumpers. This isn't mine but its just like it. I'm sure these 5mph bumpers have saved a lot of lives but I'm ready to risk life and limb for style sake.

I've got stubby bumper envy...

The bumper in the first photo are what the Corollas have here in New Zealand too. I've always found it weird how the US bumpers poke out more and have nothing in the middle section up the top to break things up a bit. They do the same with 7th gens.

Oeh, yes. I can see why you are going for another bumper
That kind of bumpers have to be fitted by law in the US or what?

I was already wondering what all that foamy stuff was all about when I took my GT-S apart. My Euro bumper is a solid ABS plastic bumper, doesn't really need anything to keep it in shape.
But the 'bumper covers' that came off my GT-S were really saggy etc. Didn't really like it. I guess it's pretty hard to paint aswell.

I might be pulling a mould of the original bumper and make one out of poly for more strenght and better painting. I can even shorten it if I would want to, or build my own bumper from scratch.

Maybe something you might want to try?

I think those big bumpers are the result of our government creating laws to try to protect us from ourselves. I don't know what the current laws pertaining to modifying bumpers ect, but its a common practice in the tuner groups. As far as ME fabbing my own custom bumper...

This baby would look OEM compared to my attempt, so that's not really an option. Maybe modifying mine is a possibility, IDK.

BTW-the two guys who have responded are half way around the world from me (which is awesome and thanks!) but I need some state-side advice from people that have done this thing and that! Give it up!!!
