i fixed my door handle on the outside and i had to take the panel off and they all came out of their.these guys have about a 3-4 inch leg span i know thats not too big but bigger then most house spiders, which are also in their lol. there are a few tiny ones that i got bit by.. twice. little bastards.
i had the same problem last summer but i got rid of them. im not afraid of them but its not to fun having one drop down in front of your face like a paratrooper while your doing 70 on the highway. scared me haha
i cant seem to get rid of them this time. i just vacuumed my car and blew it outwith the compressor. im going to get lemon juice and lemon pledge and see ifthatll work.
has any one else had a spider colonization of their corolla or any other car, how did you deal with it?i really dont want to use chemicals
i went to go out the other day and i havnt touched my car in about 2 or 3 days and it was covered in webs and i opened the door and there were webs all over. from the mirror to the seat belt, rear window to the other window. just every where haha
Far out, screw that . The only problems I've ever had with spiders and my Corolla is one that used to live in my mirror. Every day I would come out to find the mirror covered in it's web, but was never able to find him. No matter how much fly-spray and water I sprayed in the mirror he still kept coming back. So one day I was working on my car and I spotted him poking his head out watching me, so I grabbed the fly-spray and blasted him. Haven't seen him since.
As for getting the spiders out of the inside of your car, the first thing to do would be to find out where they're getting in. If you've got a leaking or cracked seal somewhere that lets moisture in, this will attract them. There should be no real way for them to get in, unless they crawled through the air-con/blower ducts but since you said they're quite big I don't think that would be the case. Try looking around the door seals and make sure all the bungs in the firewall are in tightly.
As for repelling them, there is special powder that you can buy to sprinkle around your car which deters them from entering. Putting some peppermint oil on the inside of your car is a good deterrent too. Apart from that just try not to park under trees or next to bushes etc. The last resort would be to spray bomb the whole car. This would be the most easiest and effective method, but I'd suggest getting it done by a professional as they know exactly what they are doing.
Good luck .

never spiders, but I did check out an aw11 mr2 that was sitting in someones front yard that was there for a good reason. Rats lived inside and chewed through the wire harness D:
Hells no! That would scare the crap out of me! I dont have a prob with spiders anymore, but the thought of having anything infesting my car and jumping out at me is a no no! I would use any chemical necessary!! POISON!! lol

haha well next time i see the little bastards and my webcovered corolla ill get some pictures lol.
well its cleaned very good and i did the lemon pledge on all the seals and door jams. im pretty sure there is no leaking and seals look alright not to bad. i did find that my driver side fender by the door is lose at the bottom and its big enoigh for a spider to get through. they can fit in anything.so the could get in thru the door some how
ill get some pepermint oil also and ill look into the powder if the lemon and pepermint oil doesnt help lol.. it should because i heard they both work well, spray bombing is the last resort next to a can of gas and a match lol.im kidding.
my girlfriend hates spiders and as i told her i havnt seen anymore or webs one happned to be on the inside of the window next to her hahaha. i also checked the plugs on the fire wall and they seem fine. i used to park under trees but since last sumer ive been parking across the street where there is not trees or bushs.
i used to have just one that was always on the outside for the longest time. i guess he invited his friends over and they made it their home lol.
mice and rats in the cars suck! i have mice in my 65 tempest and they made a nice little home under my intake manifold. now since its been sitting they ripped up my back seat. i havnt seen any or any evidence of them since i closed up all the holes they can get thru. thanks for your replys! lol ill let you know how its going in a few days and if im wrapped in webs on the side of the road being sucked dry by them lol
nasty looking huh?? thats what i see mostly, those yellow house spiders, and a wierd one thats brown and lays flat with a white stripe on him. not THAT big of course. i deffinatly would spray bomb my car twice a week for a month if they were that big haha
^ Two words: F*ck that! . Even one quarter the size of that would give me the shits. Especially If I'm driving along the highway at 100kph and it dropped down right in front of my face . I had a huge wasp stuck in my car when I was driving along once and that was bad enough, lol.

Haha, a sparrow definitely takes the cake so far for the craziest thing to ever be in a car. I've seen how crazy they go when they fly inside, so I can only imagine how crazy they'd go when trapped inside a vehicle
As for the wasp, I opened all of my windows and pulled over real quick. He kept flying against the bottom of the back window and wouldn't piss off, so I got a magazine off the back seat and tried to swat him out. I was pretty sure I had flicked him out, so got back in the car and continued driving. About 3km down the road he suddenly flew in front of my face and I almost had a heart attack, there was nowhere to pull over either because I was on a windy road covered in trees on each side (and large cubs that would have ruined my wheels) so I quickly put my drivers side window down and he flew out. Lets just say I had all the windows up the rest of the way home, and the air-con on re-circulate .

we got to stop leaving our windows open, period
Haha yeah, the little bastard must have hidden between the folds of the magazine. Speaking of things in cars, I once turned the air-con on in a car that hadn't been used for a long time and a whole lot of dead ants blew straight into my face. Thank God I didn't have my mouth open, LOL. One of my mates found a pair of used (and partially soiled) undies stuffed inside his air-con vents when he bought a car once, was a good thing he didn't even bother trying the air-con when he took it for a test drive . That was truly sick, what kind of person does that? .

When I was at Lincoln Tech, my buddiys' friend had a Cadillac. Him and his buddy went somewhere and he had his pet snake in the car with him (why, I dunno). They left the snake in the car, came back, and it was gone. A week later, there was a stinch. They took the dash apart at school and found his snake, that bitch was like almost 3 foot, and slushy.
My aunt had the same incident before, except the snakes were wild and had somehow found their happy ways into her Volvo. One got chewed up by the engine belt.
