I am curious as to whether others here are getting the same kind of MPG as I am. I am getting 28 to 29 -plus...... in the CITY..... with complete consistency. I haven't taken the car on any extended highway trips as of yet....but preliminary nymbers indicate about 36. I was hoping for around 27 in town....so my expectations have been nicely exceeded. I jabe checked out the engine (which runs beautifully) thoroughly, to ensure that the mixture is not too lean, for instance. No problems....all appears good.
So, what say you ? I assume that I can't be the only one getting this kind of MPG....
With somewhat agressive driving, (city cruising = 3rd gear) I get 30 average. I need a tune up, and different wheels since the rears are rubbing. I'm sure there are other things affecting my gas mileage too. But hey, it gets me to work and thats what I need.
Come to think of it, I get better gas mileage when I'm using lower gears with less throttle apposed to higher gear with more throttle.
Shit, in my 2 door GTS with the 4AGE engine, I get an average of 23-24 city haha. But I did a freeway experiment of 150 miles about 60-70mph most the way and averaged 33-34 so I guess I'm still doing good. The city around here is a lot of stop and go, and the way I drive is usually not slow, so I still think I'm not doing too bad haha.

dam man only 23-24? in my 2 door im gettin like 32 and thats shifting 4000+ most of the time and quite a few racing stupid honda's who think they are so fast
damn i think something is wrong with my car i usually get anywhere from 16 to 25 depending on how i drive and thats with the 4afe and 3 speed auto and curently in the process of converting to a 5 speed so we will see what happens to my gas mileage after that "/
oh and when i get around 16 mpg its shifting at the maximum redline before the rev limiter hits 90% of the time so yeah theres not really any thing wrong with my car except me lol

ha with a 5 speed you'll be able to hold the gear longer to get that redline everytime! lol
Oh wow you might wanna think about getting a tune up and some stuff checked because even when I drove mine all out with the automatic it was never that low

was getting only 23-24 consistently to and from work (hilly highway) then changed oxygen-sensor (can you say it looked original...?). Preliminary check says I may be getting around 31 but I need a longer test that was only a 35 mile test...
