well i didnt wanna continue my thread "just got this rolla gts" so i just wanted to show you guys what i made for my trunk. i did this this first week or two i got the car but forgot to take pics so here it is

i even put the factory jack handle front plastic lip and foam pieces that rest on the spare tire. i made it a little longer so it sits under the carpet and rest on the piece of metal by the brake lights it has more support to hold my tool box and such my piece was all crushed in when i got it and as you can see its much thicker than oem lol

Nice work. The OEM ones are far too flimsy and easy to break, so that should do a much better job. The board on my 7th Gen has a crack in it, so I may consider making one of these myself. Got any pics of the board sitting inside your trunk?

alright got some pics

you can kinda see where the board goes under the carpet by the tail lights and it helps support so i can put a lil more weight on it

and just for the hell of it had it in my trunk some goodies from the junkyard.. anyone need a celica center console lid? lol

Nice work. I will try to build one for my car. Definitely makes the trunk look a lot cleaner as opposed to no cover.

yea well you cant see mine because of the carpet but at least it supports it from the carpet dipping.

My sedan came with one of those, but I am planning on pitching it. Too much weight.
The original really is flimsy, but I plan on getting some of that thin pressed board, a little thicker than the original, but lighter than plywood.

im not sure what type of wood it is but its really light its not much heavier than the oem piece
