ok so i just bought one and the fuel gauge on the cluster is broken. any ideas on what it mite be.. i was thinkin maybe the sending unit if these cars have them or the cluster itself. thanks!

The gas level reading gauge is in the gas tank.

if you take out the bottom of the rear seat out there will be an access door for the fuel level sender unit.

same as the 8th gen then i just did one few months ago. do u think its stuck or just need to replace the whole fuel pump assembly?

Take it out first and test it with an ohm meter through it's full range for dead spots. Could be it or the cluster or the wiring inbetween.

it's actually not on the fuel pump assembly. it's part of it's own assembly. I would take it out and see what you're dealing with first. testing it with a multimeter wouldn't hurt.

ok guys thanks. anyone know which mods actually make an improvment for this car, its just so friken slow but i bought it and it still runs so i dont want to swap engines yet.
also is it smater to rebuild or swap when the time come? what engines are compatable?

One thing to note: sometimes the gauge can get a little screwy with age and will stop to read correctly. My fuel gauge wouldn't even move after starting the car if I was under half a tank. when I swapped my cluster for the le cluster w/ tach the fuel gauge was greatly improved, worked just fine. I did not even touch the gas tank when I owned the car so no outside variables there.
