HELP! all trac, loud fuel pump, idles bad

89 corrolla sedan all trac. The car sat 2 years with little to no gas in it. Changed fuel filter (which was nasty) put in new gas and techron and car finally got running. But now i notice that the pump seems to stay on all the time. So got a bad pump. I am betting that the tank has rust in it also. 2 questions: so will a performance electic pump or python pump (cheap ones) be sufficient? Whats the best way to clean out a rusty tank? Thanks for all the input. Ian

I'd replace a rusted tank.

all trac sedan. got from original owner. He ordered it that way. Bought it for scrap price since he said distributor was bad. did compression check got 200 all cylinders. didnt need dist. had shorted diode in computer fixed that and now it runs (crappy) found what I think to be rust in fuel filter and a very loud pump. I heard of a solution you line the tank with so I am going to try that. Dont really want to buy a tank
