I've been through all these forums so ?man times and have only come across it once and i have a blue light theme going on in my car and am looking to change the lights behind the gauge cluster is it true that the bulbs are 194? the same bulbs that are in the headlights of the 1990 toyota corolla sr5? is there anyother bulbs behind there then just those ones and also how is that you get the gauges out i mean i know how to get it out i attempted once but i got to the part of having to pull the clips from the black trim but the it wasnt coming out so easily and i didnt wanna force anything at the chance of breaking..is there any easy way of doing this?? and also once the trim is off what comes next..any step by step information is great thanks!
some of them are peanut bulbs(194), the actual gauges have small bulbs, smaller than peanut bulbs which light up the needles(I think) and the display lights(CEL, parking brake, high beam, etc..)
If something doesn't seems to snap off, look around for screws. If there are screws, any and all are accessible. If not, it may be a snap that needs a bit more force. AFAIK, only trim covers are screws and snaps. Anything under that are all screws.
Yep, they're 194 peanuts. Those are the only ones illuminating what you need to see. The smaller nut bulbs are just to light up the various indicators (seatbelt, door ajar, BRAKE, etc.)

so if they're 194 peanut bulbs then, the same Eurolite small LED blue bulbs that i put in the headlights would work to replace the gauge lights?

what about the bulbs that light up the speedometer and rpms?? are they smaller then 194?
LED peanuts will work if they're the same size as the 194s, if they're bigger they probably won't go in the holes.
they are the same says as the regular 194 i think but if not there are some standard blue 194 bulbs at canadian tire i can get also..but i just like the led peanuts in my headlights there a bit brighter...but i first have to get out my cluster and play around and see what i have to work with i attempted it once and pulled out one clip and it was really hard to pull out the others and i thought i was gunna break it completely and not be able to put it on because i couldnt see anything lol but im really interested in making my gauges blue!
heeyyyy everything worked out i pulled off the trim panel after giving it a little more force and took out the cluster with no troubles and the eurolights worked perfectly! and i did notice the other lights that are smaller then the 194 bulbs but im not gunna change those anyway because i want them to stay the way they are lol but everything worked out perfectly
Sadly i didnt take any before pics...but i did take an after pic later that night...originally the gauges had a whiteish green look to them and now there all blue
I removed the lower part of the dash and then just pulled the ring off :P
I have white bulbs, I had blue ones, but its hard to see the needles and the redline part on the gauge. Plus the blue is REALLY frigging bright. Became annoying, plus you looked like an alien when viewed from the outside as your face was lit blue
