AE92 4age flip light problem

Hi, one day my driver side headlight would not flip open. I looked at the arm joint and it was loose, so i tightened the bolt that connects the arm to the hydrolic. Now the driver side headlight will not flip open as high as the passenger side light, about two inches lower and it makes a major difference on the road. Ive tried loosing the bolt again and readjusting the height then tightening again, but still no difference. Its not catching as it does the same thing when the hood is up, and the weird thing is when i turn them off the driver side light flips up two inches to where it SHOULD have been and then goes down.
When i manual adjust it with the hydrolic twisty it will reset itself to the bad position when i change any settings.. IE. brights, turn off, turn on.

So my question is there any way to reset the headlights?
Or ANY suggestions is appreciated.

The manual twist knobs are just for cases when there is a loss of power or for whatever reason you can't raise the flip ups under power. They are not used for adjustment.

It sounds like you have a dead spot in the motor itself. I can't remember if they are serviceable and can be opened up. If they can, it would probably just be some worn contacts inside. Might be easier to find a replacement motor though.

I guess you could plug it into the other side harness and test and see if it does the same thing. Then you'd know for sure that it's the motor that needs replacing. You obviously have to take the motor out to do this.
