Just regular high mileage dino would be fine.

Castrol GTX, Pennzoil, Valvoline, whatever is on sale.

I use Valvoline Engine Armour, but Castrol Magnatec is good too. It's up to you, just stick to reputable brands

I go with the cheapest 5w30 oil I can find. Engine has just over 210,000 miles and is internally spotless. Keeping up on changes is far more important than the specific oil you buy.

I use dino and change the oil frequently. Just picked up some 5 qt bulk containers of Castrol GTX for $13... that comes out to $2.60 per quart.

Few things will stir up a car forum like oil.

The high-mileage oils have additives that really do help stop gasket leaks. If the car has no leaks, then you may want to save a few dollars here.

All of the new SM rated oils are very good. The generic Wal-Mart oil is made by Texaco and has worked very well in my cars and trucks.

By the way, the Wal-Mart brand oil filters are better than the first tier Fram filters they sell too.

+1 on the walmart stuff. i opened up a walmart and fram filter as an experiment. Frams are cheap glued cardboard inside, the walmart filters have metal components inside, much better quality than fram. No wonder I always hear of claims against fram.

I would actually stick to 10w40 or higher... older cars actually recommend 20w50 for summer.
