Toyota parts fighting with an angle grinder...

And the gearbox lost...

Just wanted to share this with you guys:

I put an angle grinder to my spare C52 transmission, since it was only rusting away and all the good parts were already taken out.

As it was:

Guess it's obvious why I couldn't use it anymore

So I made a few modifications to it:

And with this as the endresult:

Still working on the stands/display for it. Will finish those up next week probably.

The nice thing about it is that I made the thing so it still works! You can still turn it and run through all the gears and see exactly what's happening inside!

You could make a nice table leg out of that, get a sheet of tempered glass cut to shape and somehow attach it onto that.

Ghehehe...believe it or not...this whole thing wasn't even done in my free time.
I prefer to do something usefull at work when there is nothing else to do and everybody is eating out of their noses.
My boss found it kind of interresing aswell

Already got some work for the car done there aswell, Just saving up for the body to be done. Sadly, I can't continue the project before thats done.

Maybe I will make a video

Haha, very cool use of an old transmission. I'd like to see the video, if anything because I still don't know exactly how a MT works.

Could you hook up an electric motor to the tranny to turn it slowly?

Cool!

Looking at the first pic, I thought for a moment that there was a girl in a bikini and heels at your work. LOL. It kinda looks like she could be sitting off in the back if you look at it a certain way.

Next time, I'll make sure she isn't in the picture. Everybody is focused on her more than the gearbox!
