Broken Bolt

Yesterday while changing the thermostat on my 4afe sedan, I broke one of the bolts that holds the water housing onto the coolant inlet housing. I was thinking of just using some jb weld to just stick it back on till I do a silver top swap. Good idea or bad idea? Has anybody had this issue before, or any other ideas as to what I should do?

I think it's a bad idea but I'm a "do it right" kind of guy. I'd extract the broken bolt and replace it. What if the JB doesn't hold, then you have to fix it for real and it has all this JB crap stuck to it?

Instead of JB weld, you may be good enough to pass with the appropriate gasket maker/ sealant that you have to apply on to the mating surfaces anyways. JB weld is tough stuff, practically you would be gorilla gluing the part or stronger.

But I would rather extract the broken bolt out. Hopefully the threads of the hole are not stripped.

Drill out the stump with a propriate sized drill bit, use a tap to clean the thread, get a new bolt.

JBweld probably wouldnt hold worth a shit and if you get a leak, thats a bigger problem.
