SR5 suspension and carb

So i wanna know annyone with a 86-88 toyota Corolla SR5 has the same issue as i do. How do you like(if you still have) youre stock suspension? on My SR5 GT-S its alittle...well, springy. It gives quite alot and takeing corners faster then 20MPH makes my mudflaps and sometimes under the doors hit the ground, and oh man i feel the pain. also, does annyone have a recomendation for a performance carburator for the 1.2L 16 valve? anny feedback will be GREATLY apreciated.

The suspension on my 88 SR5 feels great. I bought it in disrepair but the one thing that feels tight and decent is the suspension, feels as good as my old 96 miata when i redid the bushings.

1.2L 16Valve? You mean 1.6L 16Valve? You can get a performance Weber carburetor for it. I think eage8 may still have his for sale.

Actually your SR5 is 88-91, 84-87 SR5s are totally different.

Just think of it this way, no matter what you do to that 4AF carbed motor it's never gonna be fast enough.

well ive been sitting on a 2.0 DOHC injected V-6 from a 04 Dodge strattus that was rear ended by a semi truck. ive measured it and ittl fit in the ol' corolla with just enough room to spare for hoses and fittings, but the front suspension will need to be beefd up alittle, what do you think about that? would that be enough power lol. still thinking if i wanna take out the 16 valve tho cause its still a good little engine....guess i could always put it back.

it sounds to me like you're struts are blown. I would replace them first. it's still probably going to be rolly, but not as bad and it'll get rid of the springy feeling. You can add stiffer springs at the same time, but they will affect the ride quality.

I'd recommend KYB GR2s to start with. you can get them from tirerack.com.

and yes, I do have a weber carburetor for sale. PM me if you're interested.

I'm thinking of picking one up in the near future, if yours sells right away, do you happen to know where to buy a new one?
