Question Am I overheating?

When I start my car the temp gauge is all the way to the left at cold. then after about 10 minutes of driveing it suddenly jumps up to arround midpoint. When i stop and idle for about 10 minutes the fans turn on, and off a few times. They dont run while the car is moveing, i know because i have lights wired on my controll pannel to turn on when they are running.

I have a 50/50 mixture of distilled water and antifreeze coolant in my rad right now. maybe i should add more antifreeze then water? also, i like to pop the hood and check over my engine every few runs, it feels like its running alot hotter then my other GTS, i dont think its because of the black hood, and it has a brand new thermostat as well. annyone have an idea of whats going on? or is it just normal?

the mid point is where it's supposed to sit.

also, your fans shouldn't run while the car is moving, because there is already air getting forced through the radiator doing the fans job for them.

overheat

well i know the fans arent suposed to move when the car is moveing, but the reason i ask is because i have a stock SR5, without mods, and the fan almost never runs, except on ocasionally hot days. thats the only reason i was wondering if ther was a problem.

any car will turn the fan on when it's stopped for a while. it has no other way to disperse the heat.

sounds like normal operation to me.
