Help!!! My dash lights died!

So today I installed a new after-market deck in my car. I got it in, took my time, made everything fit and hide nice... When I swapped the wires, there was a brown one and white and green one (I think that was the second one...) that had no where to go, so I covered them and left them. After everything was said and done, the deck worked, but my dash lights were off (I mean all the white/green lights behind my spedo and tach and ect.). I have looked for wiring diagrams online and can not find one with those wires in them. Do the 2 wires I left unconnected have anything to do with the lights? (I know the old radio lit up) If it is those 2 wires, how do I fix the problem, connect them together? Is there something else I may have knocked lose? Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks!

This happened to someone last month with a 7th Gen Corolla. Turned out that they wired the two orange wires together which shorted out the dimmer rheostat and caused the instrument lights not to work.

Here's the thread:

dashboard lights wont light up

Either that, or one of the fuses in the cabin has blown.

Here's a link to radio wiring. You blew a fuse. Check drivers side kick panel fuse box, passenger side (behind kick panel) and black box under hood. One or more is blown.

So I found the problem, it was a fuse in a way. I accidently hooked the ground to the light (green wire) and it blew the tail light fuse. I guess the deck was just running off the ground that the dash lights had, so it made it work even though it was wrong. All is well now and the green and white with green wire are still hooked up to nothing!
Thanks guys!
