What year? Your best bet is to buy one online, like ebay or other. They are not to expensive and worth it.

I couldn't find a pdf version so I just bought a paper version off ebay...

it's a bit expensive but very useful... it's also about as big as the yellow pages...

for basic stuff a haines manual works just fine and it's decently cheap. you can get them at your local autoparts stores

Yeah you probably won't find a free copy anywhere. One, it's just to damn big to scan, lol, and two, most guys on here look down on that kind of thing but I hear what you're saying about the costs. It is worth it though to buy the big toyota book if you can. Maybe someone on here has a used one they will sell you?

If you have specific questions on stuff I'm sure most people on here will be more than willing to provide the info. and help.

Given the cost of all the parts alone you buy for your ride over the years, the cost of an FSM becomes negligible when you consider what you get out of it. IMO and FSM more than pays for itself.

here's a link to a digital copy of a Hayne's manual. My mistake if it's against forum rules to post this. If it is then ill remove this post and PM it anyone who needs it.
