Adusting Clutch Freeplay?

Well i was driving today and i noticed when i push on the clutch pedal it goes in about half a inch before i feel and pressure on my foot. how could i adjust this? also, what would be a good clutch to get (mine is starting to go out)

There needs to be some freeplay, if the clutch is disengaging fully, then leave it be.

Good clutch set would be anything from exedy, aisin, Luk, sachs, OEM toyota (which is probably aisin) etc etc... Unless you have some special requirements for the clutch, those would be fine.

thanks, i have only had automatic cars before this one. and the only thing i would want is a lightweight one so i could increase my gas mileage. My goal is to get high 40's low 50's

40, 50mpg will be a bit of a challenge without some engine work. and if you do get engine work might i suggest you work with tuning so you gain tourqe insted of horsepower. because intown driving and at start acceleration use prob the most gas, so more tourqe less = pedal effort = less gas. its not to say you might not get 40 mpg with some careful driving in the highway. i think what your looking for is consistency of the mpg you get right.

well most of my driving is on a interstate for 400 miles one way. but thanks for the advice about the torque. i wasnt even thinking about that.
