AE92 aw11 4age into an ae92 dx...wiring?

so I've been round and round with people on several forums about the best way to go through with this....Do I hunt down a wiring harness for a gts or get a harness made? If I get a gts harness what's the story with the ecu ? Do I have to get a gts ecu or is it the same ecu as the mr2? This is my first swap like this and if you can't already tell electrical isn't my strong point.

I did read a thread on here with info about altering harnesses that I will try after I pick up a spare harness for my dx (that way if I screw up I still got options). Though I do think that my donor harness being from an mr2 is going to complicate things a little more than normal, IDK.........

the 88-89 gts ecu and wireing system will be different then any of the earlyier mr2's, atlest the ignition system is. and a 90-91 wireing system is also different then a 88-89 due to the smaller ports and no TVIS. i would suggest you get a parts car or go to the junk yard and pull all the body harness and engine harness off a gt-s that has TVIS. also i think you have to do somthing with the fuel pump to. im sure i remember seeing it somewhere on carl/blue bombers page about something with the fuel pump having to be changed.

it would be closer than the aw11.... the aw11's harness are COMPLETELY different than an AE.....

if you got a complete ae82 harness and dash harness it would work...

best bet would be to find an ae92 of the same year.

ya I'm just not having any luck locating any ae92 gts' in my area, that and I'm just not exercising any patience...I've only been looking for a ae92 gts harness for 3 days.....

It'll be less than 50$ for the fx stuff I think I'll grab it next weekend.........

if this is in fact from an ae92 it should work.... unfortunately won't activate t-vis, though:

your other option, which is what I personally would go with, is build your own harness and use an aftermarket computer

that's just because his car was a carbureted model so it didn't have an in-tank fuel pump. A 92s fuel pump will work fine.

ya a friend who I've been working on this little project with recently suggested megasquirt as an option, I'm going to see whats in the budget when it comes time to do wiring.......I really need to focus on rebuilding the block (Brand new head!!!) before I spend too much energy on wiring, but I'd like to be prepared.
