1/91 means January '91
Anything made after June, is usually considered the next model year. So since yours is 1/91 it should be a '91 model, if it was a 7/91 it that means it was manufactured in July, and mignt be considered a '92 model.
That used to be the rule of thumb, if there are no signifuicant changes otherwize.
Now-a-days, some manufacturers are selling 2011 model cars in March 2010, which I don't quite understand
