my car my current problems .!

aight so in the last couple weeks i just replaced my distributor cap and wires.! oil change i was trying to bring my rpms back up thinking that would help and it didnt it actully made my rpms go from 600-700 down to 550 ? i dont know what happend but im not liking the performance im getting form this car right now my rpms should be at least 800 and its no were close .! next then i need to to do is buy a damn motor mount (front end) and replace it .! but no money and for some reasson my check engine light is always on and im guessing that is somehow its tied to the damn rpms being low but if anyone can give me an i dea as in where to look and fix some of these problem im having .!

but the picture is wrong. it's just the diagnostic connector, you jumper "TE1" and "E1"
